Kern County public courses
Rates are the same for all Kern County public courses: Weekdays $19.50 with a resident card, $29 without; twilight $14 with card, $23.50 without; weekends $23.50 with card, $33.50 without; weekend twilight $16 with card, $25.50 without. Senior rate (weekdays only) $13. Junior rate $12 weekdays, $16  weekends with parent before noon except at Kern River, $12 after noon. A resident card is available at any county course for $10. Cart rental is $11 per person, senior weekdays $10. All three offer driving ranges.

• Haggerty-North Kern Golf Course: West of Highway 65, north of Lerdo Highway at 17412 Quality Road, 399-0347.
• Mifflin-Buena Vista Golf Course: Between Bakersfield and Taft off Highway 119 at 10256 Golf Course Road, 398-9720.
• Foss-Kern River Golf Course: Located near Lake Ming, just northeast of Alfred Harrell Highway, 872-5128.

Delano Golf Course: 104 S. Lexington Ave., Delano, 725-7527. Annual card for Kern County residents, $10. Adults, 9 holes, weekdays and weekends $9 with card, $11 without; 18 holes, weekdays and weekends $12 with card, $16 without. Seniors, 9 holes, weekdays and weekends $6 with card, $8 without; 18 holes, weekdays and weekends $8 with card, $10 without. Junior 21 and under, $5 for 9 holes; $7 for 18 holes on all days. Carts, $7 per rider for 9 holes weekdays; $10 per rider 18 holes weekends. Driving range available.

Horse Thief Country Club: 28950 Horsethief Drive, Tehachapi, 823-8571. 9 holes, weekdays $17, weekends $20; 18 holes, weekdays $30, weekends $35; 18 holes, twilight, weekdays $17, weekends $20. Cart fees, 9 holes, $7.50 for shared cart, $9.50 single; 18 holes, $12 for shared cart, $15 single. Junior, senior and military discounts available. Driving range available.

Kern Valley Golf Course: 9472 Burlando Road, Kernville, 760-376-2828. 9 holes, Monday through Friday $13, with cart $19; 18 holes $18, with cart $28; weekday twilight (after 2 p.m.) $12, with cart $16; weekend twilight (after 2 p.m.) $14, with cart $20. The Links at RiverLakes Ranch: 5201 Riverlakes Drive, Bakersfield, 587-5465. No 9-hole rates. 18 holes, Monday through Thursday $35, Fridays $40; after 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday $30, Fridays $33; after 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday $27, Fridays $30.
