In the event of an emergency call 9-1-1 for police, fire or ambulance services.

A number of law enforcement agencies patrol and provide service to approximately 8,100 square miles of Kern County. The Kern County Sheriff’s Department covers unincorporated areas of Kern County. Some cities contract with the sheriff’s department. The California Highway Patrol investigates and reports on traffic accidents. For more information on these policing agencies, please look for the community services section.
