All area codes are 661 unless otherwise noted in the following list of ambulances, fire companies and hospitals in the city and outlying areas of Kern County. Residents are urged to call 911 for emergencies.

Hall Ambulance Service: 2001 O St., Bakersfield; 327-4111. Also serves Bear Valley, Frazier Park, Pine Mountain Club, Taft, Tehachapi, Shafter, Boron, California City, Mojave, Arvin, Lamont and Rosamond. Outlying areas can call 1-800-924-4882.
