There are several landfills in Kern County available for your use, should you wish to dispose of items that may be related to your move to Bakersfield.  If you need information about hours and fees for landfills in Kern County, or if you wish to dispose of an item but are unsure if it will be accepted at the site, call 862-8900.  Here is a list of the landfills in the Kern County Area, all of which accept non-hazardous household and municipal waste:

 

• Bena Sanitary Landfill: At Bena and Towerline roads

• Boron Sanitary Landfill: Half-mile south of Boron, at 11400 Boron Ave.

• Buttonwillow Transfer Station: One mile north of Buttonwillow on Sullivan Road

• Caliente Bin Site: Bealeville Road at Caliente/Bodfish Road

• Glennville Transfer Station: One mile southeast of Glennville on Highway 155

• Keene Bin Site: Half-mile east of Keene Store on Wooford-Tehachapi Road

• Kern Valley Transfer Station: Two and a half miles southeast of Kernville and one mile east of Lake Isabella, on Cyrus Canyon Road

• Lebec Transfer Station: Half-mile south of Lebec on Lebec Road

• Loraine/Twin Oaks Bin Site: Behind Sand Canyon Store on Caliente Creek Road

• McFarland/Delano Transfer Station: One mile south of Delano, 1⁄4 mile off Wollomes, on Stradley Street

• Mojave Sanitary Landfill: 400 Silver Queen Road, five miles south of Mojave, one mile east of Highway 14

• Randsburg Bin Site: Goler and Staley roads

• Ridgecrest Sanitary Landfill: Five miles southwest of Ridgecrest, at 3301 Bowman Road

• Shafter/Wasco Sanitary Landfill: One mile north of Lerdo Highway on Scofield Avenue

• Taft Sanitary Landfill: One mile north of Highway 119, at 13351 Elk Hills Road

• Tehachapi Sanitary Landfill: 12001 Tehachapi Blvd.
