The Kern River Preserve, located just off Highway 178 is Weldon, is over 1,100 acres in size and home to more than 300 species of birds. Whether you’re in the mood for a stroll amongst nature or searching for a serious birding locale, the preserve is open from dawn-to-dusk, 365 days a year and admission to this spectacular venue is free.
