Operates 16 sites, serving more than 1,200 children throughout the county. Offers full- and half-day preschool with encouraged parental participation for some classes. Assistance is available for children whose families meet income-eligibility requirements. Also offers private- and employer-sponsored child care at the Downtown Development Center.

Free referrals and information for parents seeking child care. Partner in the CalWORKs welfare-to-work reform, provides assistance with child-care payments. Also coordinates the county¹s child-care waiting list, trains child care providers, offers a resource and lending library, sponsors children¹s concerts and other community events, and participates in other programs benefitting children and families.
