Thank you for your comment. i wrote all that crap, my crap, hoping it would make me feel better. it did. as far as my sobrity goes, its still there. I don't have the cravings, the desires, the "anything" that comes with recovery. But that's a whole other blog post. Matt, your a good guy!

my team-mate, is a pitcher, and we are playing in the all-star tournament, she pitched our first game on a Monday. Then we didnt play on Tuesday, then on Wednesday, we had another game and was our first pitcher, and the other team said that, that was illegal. They allowed us to play the top of the first inning, before anything was said. Is that against the rules Little League Girl Major Softball All Stars, in South Dakota.

Hi there- My son, a pilot, and his family live in Bakersfield and will be moving to LA in August to be closer to LAX.

Recommend that you call Point Loma University , as my daughter-in-law has worked there for years as a Customer Service FInancial Analyist and she will be transferring to another campus in the LA area.

They also have a beautiful home for rent in Bakersfield. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2050 square feet, built in 2005, great back yard.

I understand Wal*Marts across the country allow RVers to stay overnight. Great business move, wouldn't you say. I don't move to Bakersfield for another couple weeks. I should have chosen the RV route vs the apartment rental. Never even considered it. ...did live on a sailboat for a time. Was quite comfortable actually. Wish you luck in selling your home. For a short overnight stay, the parking lot at the Walmart on Rosedale is a popular place.

For a longer term stay, I have seen 2 new RV parks (one of which was mentioned by another user):

Thoughts of an East Coaster : "moving stuff across the country"

I think I might try the ebay route for a few of the things I have out there, but the records are very dear to me.

I would like to look into a full service mover. Do you have any you could recommend? I don't have a lot of stuff to move though, just the records. I would like to move my loveseat too, but it's a hide-a-bed and extremely heavy and cumbersome to move (plus it's currently in the basement). I'm strong for a girl, but it was really hard to get that thing down in the basement, and bringing it up the stairs and around the 90-degree corners at the top might kill me...

I don't need the pod for the storage, storage isn't really an option for me (I don't want the records to be subject to temperature changes for long), I just want to move them from the east coast to Bakersfield.

I moved the rest of my stuff (all that I could fit) in my car and drove 4 days straight across the country and that was a long ordeal I'd rather not repeat.

The other option I'm seriously considering is to just go out there on a plane with some extra suitcases and pack them full of records and fly back, paying the extra charges for extra baggage and sending whatever doesn't fit through the mail somehow (ups/dhl/usps, etc). Postage is about $1/per record though and that could get expensive. I'd have to fly out there to pack this stuff up anyhow, so the plane option is looking to be the least expensive, and the fastest method. I'll look into the costs for that and post them on here.

State Farm is also headquartered here and that may be another good company to check into.

Thank you, but we already had ours done a few weeks ago by the company who did our neighbor's landscaping. They told us it'd be done in two weeks, but he and his crew put in concrete slabs, curving concrete curbing, full sprinkler system and sod for our 11,500 sq ft lot in 4 days. The pricing was also very reasonable. If anyone needs their contact info, let me know!
