This week, KernLife.com was launched in conjunction with the annual Kern Life magazine, which hits newsstands Sunday, July 27. Find it inside The Bakersfield Californian. KernLife.com will look familiar to users of NewToBakersfield.com because we kept all the same great content, just added a new logo and a ton of new, fresh content. For users with NewToBakersfield.com profiles, your login information remains the same. You can even still go to NewToBakersfield.com, and you will automatically be redirected to KernLife.com. With your profile, you can post blog entries, articles, events, and now discussions with our brand new "forums" feature. From the home page, click the link to "forums" in the top navigation and start a brand new discussion with your Kern County neighbors! The staff at The Bakersfield Californian will continue to update the site with fresh articles and listings. If you have any suggestions or topics you'd like to see added, please contact site administrator Jennifer Baldwin at jbaldwin@bakersfield.com or 661-395-7568. We look forward to your continued participation at KernLife.com — your guide to living in Kern County! It's that time of year again, the end of July, when the annual Kern Life magazine is printed and distributed around town. This guide to living in Kern County will be inserted in the Sunday, July 27, edition of The Bakersfield Californian. If you miss it, you can also purchase a copy for $1.50 in the lobby of The Californian, 1707 Eye Street, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. We also launched this Web site, KernLife.com, in conjunction with the magazine this year. It has tons more info than could fit in the printed version. If the Web site looks a little familiar, that's because we re-branded the former NewToBakersfield.com. Rather than reach out to just newcomers to the area, we wanted to share all this great info with everyone! It doesn't matter how long you've lived in Kern County, you will learn new things and find great resources. The staff of The Bakersfield Californian hopes you enjoy both the magazine and the Web site. Contact us with suggestions or questions!
